What You’ll Do
The Purchasing and Inventory Specialist oversees the purchasing and maintains inventory of the supplies, materials, and parts for facilities operations. Must be able to analyze data and processes, find creative solutions, generate reports, and present findings to upper management and other departments. Must be proactive problem solver with a desire to collaborate with others.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· Hemodialysis Technician Certification and/or two years of relevant experience.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Knowledge of dialysis supplies, materials, and machinery in the acute settings.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to exercise tact, courtesy, and ethics when dealing with customers.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel, as well as inventory software.
- Pass required background requirements set by client locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and maintains logistics process for inventory maintenance, shipment and delivery, and returns on products
- Collaborates with other members of the team to identify problems and find solutions
- Develops and maintains inventory databases for supplies and materials used
- Submit supply inventory request weekly
- Maintains records of supplies ordered and received
- Communicates with management to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, quality, price, or conditions of product
- Proactively anticipates treatment/supply increases by understanding and knowing the pulse of the hospital through regular communication; this includes, but is not limited to seasonal increases in hospital visits, contributing circumstances (i.e., COVID), etc.
- Must have frequent (at least weekly) communication with supervisor
- Checks email at least weekly and responds appropriately and timely; uses company-provided email for all work-related email communications
- Adheres to company policies and procedures
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance and punctuality
- Performs other duties as assigned
Supervision:
- This position will report directly to Regional Biomedical Manager
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, phones, and photocopiers/scanners. May be asked to visit dialysis units in hospitals, correctional facilities or post-acute therapy settings.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally push, pull or lift supplies and products up to 50 pounds. Specific visual abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
